Hebben we het hier over een server die gehost is bij Antagonist? In "normale" VPS omgevingen kun je dit inderdaad het beste doen in de iptables of andere custom firewall, ongeacht welke firewall je gebruikt daarvoor.

Echter is de situatie bij Antagonist anders. Bij Antagonist huur je een container in een server waar je gelimiteerd toegang tot hebt. Daardoor is het niet mogelijk om de firewall te configureren. Het enige wat je zelf kunt doen is via htaccess de verbinding naar de website verbreken zodat hij daar geen extra resources gebruikt.

Als het echter een stevige DDoS betreft wil je de verbindingen hiervoor eigenlijk al afvangen en null-routen. Ik moet je dan echter teleurstellen dat dat buiten jouw mogelijkheden valt bij Antagonist. Hiervoor zul je contact op moeten nemen met support.

Wat Reno zegt klopt inderdaad. Bij ons kan je een beperkt aantal zaken instellen gezien de rest al (automatisch) door ons wordt geregeld.

Zo vangen wij automatisch veelvuldig foutieve inlogpogingen af en hebben wij ook technieken om DDoS aanvallen in te dammen.

Hierdoor is het enkel nog nodig, mocht je dit willen of nodig zijn, een IP-adres te blokkeren via het .htaccess-bestand van je website. Hiermee stop je de aanvraag direct bij binnenkomst van je container en gebruikt dit geen/nauwelijks resources. Je 'null route' als het ware dan de verbinding naar je container. Gezien ons platform je op containerniveau werkt.
